Message from the President

Welcome to the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS), a professional body established to promote continuous education in oncological imaging, and stimulate research in the study of human tumour behaviour.

ICIS brings together radiologists, nuclear medicine and other specialists for the exchange of ideas through the Society online Medline-accredited journal, Cancer Imaging, and our scientific meetings, multi-centre research studies, and postgraduate courses within the field.

Professor Dame Janet Husband DBE
Gold Medal of ICIS

A special ceremony was held at the 9th Annual Teaching Course in Salzburg to award Professor Dame Janet Husband DBE the inaugural Gold Medal of ICIS. Dame Janet is Co-Founder of the Society and was awarded the Gold Medal for her continued commitment to the Society, and in recognition of her exceptional contributions and pioneering work in oncological radiology worldwide. Here she is pictured with Professor Wolfgang Schima, ICIS President 2008-09, and Dr. Mike King who presented the award.

Rodney Reznek
Editor-in-Chief 2000 - 2009

Professor Rodney Reznek relinquished his role as Editor-in-Chief of Cancer Imaging at the 9th Annual Teaching Course in Salzburg. Professor Reznek is a Co-Founder of the International Cancer Imaging Society and has edited the journal since its inception in 2000. He established an extremely high editorial standard and has overseen the Journal's growth; it now publishes over 70 high quality articles every year, is covered by PubMed/Medline, and is read by 10,000 radiologists every month. He is succeeded as Editor-in-Chief by Professor Ken Miles.
